Use a tissue box, a hole punch and a shoelace for a practical life skill practice and a fine motor activity in one! Like so many things (for both kids and adults) learning on a small scale can make it hard to see what's really going on. If you blow it up and break it down, everything gets a lot easier.

This fine motor activity involves threading a shoelace through holes punched into a tissue box to model a shoe. I like this activity because it replicates an important ADL activity that children often have difficulty learning, shoe tying!

This Indian Corn Squish Bag is a fun Thanksgiving activity for babies and toddlers. Squish bags are great for sensory play and fine motor development. Preschoolers can also have fun preparing the Indian corn and making the sensory bags.
