An artist’s impression of some of the first stars in the early Universe. Five protostars are seen here forming in the centre of discs of gas. Image credit: Shantanu Basu, University of Western Ontario.

Clusters of monster stars lit up the early universe Scientists find that the first stars could have clustered together in phenomenally bright groups, with periods when they were as luminous as 100 million Suns.

Starburst Cluster NGC 1929 in the Large Magellanic Cloud This cluster is creating shockwave “superbubbles” that are triggering chain reactions of supernova explosions. This image is a composite of three light wavelengths, X-rays are represented as blue, visible light as yellow, and infra-red light as red.

When Galaxies Collide: Photos of Great Galactic Crashes | Merging Galaxies & Galactic Collisions | Stunning Universe Photos

This image shows the two galaxies interacting. NGC once a standard spiral galaxy, and NGC a smaller elliptical, bear a striking resemblance to a penguin guarding its egg. Image released June This is a new image from the Hubble Space Telescope.

A rainbow of the Universe. If I could do anything, I would study astronomy. The sky has always intrigued me and I would love to learn all I can about it. I would love to be as close as possible to this science. It is a beautiful party of God& creation.

Smaller satellite galaxies caught by a spiral galaxy are distorted into elongated structures consisting of stars, which are known as tidal streams, as shown in this artist's impression. The new survey has, for the first time, shown the presence of such tell-tale traces of spiral galaxies swallowing smaller satellites for galaxies more distant than our own “Local Group” of galaxies.
