CP - 2001 -Armenian Church: When Armenia adopted Christianity as its state religion in 301 AD, it became the first nation in the world to do so. The year 2001 marks the 1,700th anniversary of the Armenian Apostolic Church. A single commemorative stamp, designed by Debbie Adams, features elements important to the Armenian Church: a Khachkar (cross stone), an image of Christ, and detail from ancient text. The stamp was issued on May 16, 2001, in Toronto, Ontario.
