As kids, on 1st April we used to prank people by sticking paper fishes on their back while screaming "Poisson d'avril!". "Poisson d'avril" is in French the equivalent for "fool's day"; or literally translated would be "April's fish". And I honestly don't know where the fish thing comes from...
