Johannes Gutenberg 1398 – 1468) was a German blacksmith, goldsmith, printer, and publisher who introduced printing to Europe. His mechanical printing press and techniques revolutionized printing and made a large contribution to the Reformation, the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution.
