en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanian_Athenaeum : The Romanian Athenaeum (Romanian: Ateneul Român) is a concert hall in the center of Bucharest, Romania and a landmark of the Romanian capital city. Opened in 1888, the ornate, domed, circular building is the city's main concert hall and home of the "George Enescu" Philharmonic and of the George Enescu annual international music festival.
The "People's Palace", now known as the Palace of the Parliament, is the world's largest civilian building, most expensive administrative building, and heaviest building. Ceausescu intended the palace to be his personal home and government base. Having 1,100 rooms & 2 underground parking garages, it is 12 stories tall, with 3,700,000 interior sq ft. Ceauşescu would have lived here, in stark contrast to the squalor and poverty of his surrounding neighbors.
