"As they are being photographed they are in a process of alteration from solid to liquid, from organized form in space to aqueous blob on a surface, and thus suggest a transitiveness that photography, as a medium devoted to stilling the moment, would seem to contradict." - Mike + Doug Starn, the photographers of these REAL snowflakes!!

Snowflakes and Snow Crystals
I absolutely love pictures of real snowflakes! I like this one in particular because of its uniqueness with the center of it having the cut out shape of a more iconic snowflake. I would love to pin every snowflake picture they have on this website, but I'll restrain myself and let you enjoy them for yourself if you would like to go to their website. :)

Snowflakes and Snow Crystals
Hmm...snowflakes on my "cool" board. Not surprising. The photographs by Ken Libbrecht are stunning. (He's got amazing subjects.) Snowflakes, real, natural snowflakes, are so beautiful they take my breath away. http://www.its.caltech.edu/~atomic/snowcrystals/
